Little brother that stutter .?
I have a 9 year old little brother that has been stuttering ever since he began to start speaking. My mom and dad took him to the children’s hospital for research and he needs therapy right now my parents and really tight in money . So i try to read out-loud with him because i heard that helps him . That’s all i basilcy know . So what iam asking is what kinda of exercises do the therapist do to try and improve this Speech problem

Look for published articles on the subject, see what has been successful and use that. I heard that there was a device to put in their ear (like a hearing aid) that makes them stop stuttering completely. Research that, see if you can apply for research so he can take advantage of things like this for free (maybe). Contact St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, find out what they know, that’s a really good place for kids and it’s free.

My mom used to be friends with another woman who had a son that stuttered and his mom would make fun of him. It was horrible. It only made him stutter worse.
Just keep reading with him that is a great idea.
I think what you’re doing is so sweet. You are giving him support, something he needs. I know a speech therepist but won’t see her until Thursday. I’ll ask for ideas.
