Tell them to stop, pause, calm and speak.
Thats what I do.
Go and see a speech therapist. They can help your cousin.
thhink beforee you speakkkk!
i hav the same problem!
breathe
think
stay calm
and slow down
I’ve heard reading out loud helps. Learning how to calm down, and speak slowly while excited should help, too. I’m not an expert, but I can imagine that the more she practices, the better she’ll become.
speech lessons,
my brother had the same problem
maybe take classes, they help a lot, my friend too them and she got better with her “s’s” lol.
alot of people stutter cause they are nervous or not confident.
Thats what happens to my friend from work.
I guess try to relax more, tell yourself you are worth it and good and be confident and dont care so much then the nervous might go away.
Have them read out loud
deep breathing always helps i also have a bad shuttering problem becasue of to much excitment but deep breathing and calming music. soothing sounds.
I myself when I get too excited I stutter but my advice to her would be to slow down and when she says it to really make the word with her mouth…if that makes any sense lol
See a speech therapist.
I would say elementary schools usually have speech classes? Or outside of school speech classes would help!
look at what you fead him, too much sugar or anything like that should be reduced
speech therapy, Ritalin, lots of stuff
don’t be nervous… if u stutter it’s cause ure nervous… just breathe and pretend ure talking 2 someone u talk to on a daily basis
1.) There Is No Time Pressure : Speak only when you feel ready to.
2.) Establish Good Eye Contact : All the good speakers out there know it is important to look the person in the eye when you are speaking to them.
3.) Don’t Hold Back : When you are ready to say what you have to say, speak at the top of your breath confidently with no hesitations.
4.) Thought Formulation : Gather your thoughts into your head and mentally convert them into words before you even begin to open your mouth and say something.
5.) Pronounce with Assertion : Attack each word, stressing pronunciation and articulation. There you have it, what you have learned are the five things that I keep in mindwhich has helped me learn how to cure stuttering.
Their has been studys done on stuttering and they have found that ppl don’t stutter while singing so maybe have him sing what he wants to say. Are just tell him to slow down and think about what he wants to say first then say it slow.
Stuttering is due to trying to talk faster than your brain proses words so the way to stop stuttering is to slow down when you talk so work on think be for you speak and Annunciation
take a deeeeep breath and tell her to start again the phrase she was about to tell u !
i do taht when i am nervous
everytime the child stutters, make him practice and practice until he/she doesnt do it.
there are probably key phrases/words that make him/her stutter. its just like learning to ride a bike, try try again. practice makes perfect.
practice is almost an automatic thing, if you teach it to the kid right, they will do it. practice can be easy if you think about it right. its just doing the same thing over and over again right? kids get easily frustrated, especially with something like this. positive encouragement and practice is the best advice i have. i hope that helps a bit at least.
BE PATIENT LET HER JUST TAKE HER TIME OR YOU CAN MAYBE PURCHASE THAT HOOKED ON PHONICS
Hey im 13 and i have been stuttering on and off since i was 13.
To help my stuttering i sometimes see a speach therapist who go over what could have caused it. My stuttering usaully goes after a visit to them. You could also ask him if anything is wrong, at school maybee. Ask him to read aloud to you everynight, Help him pronounce his words, but dont be picky. I know frustrating it is from my own expierience. There is no cure for stutteringg, only help them.
Maybe ask him to slow down and take time to say what he wants to say. Hope i helped :D
I helped one of my good friends stop stuttering, so I hope I can help Adelaide. I told my friend to just think what he wants to say, and make sure he knows what he wants to say, that way, the words are clear to his mind and mouth. I personally talk really fast, so I come to a jam some times on what to say, and its kind of stuttery, so just think what is going to be said. Also, talking to her alot will really help. And play word games, like, who can talk slower. This one really helps. Start with you saying a sentence, like, for example: The apple is very crunchy, but also sweet and juicy. Then get her to say that very slowly, and then see how fast she can get, without stuttering. That one worked really well with my friend.
So like I said, tell Adelaide to think what she wants to say, and try a word game or two. I really hope this helps you and your little cousin, and if you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask. Talk to you another time,
-Kurisu.
Advise her to speak more slowly and think before she talks.

well coming from someone who used to stutter really bad in school it is a real challenge, not to mention all the teasing I got, which really hurts. Have them slow down as they are talking and to repeat what ever they are saying, and mean while do not laugh at them or try to make them hurry up with what they are trying to say. try that and good luck to you!
